The Voice Behind the Show *
Jennifer McClain has spent 25 years doing what she was born to do — walk into a room, open her mouth, and make everyone forget what they were worried about.
THE STORY
Growing up with Broadway dreams and a voice to match, Jennifer McClain earned her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from Baldwin Wallace University and set out to do the thing most people only talk about — actually make a life in performance.
That life took her to professional musical theatre, cruise ships, theme parks, and eventually to South Florida, where she planted roots and built something rare: a genuine, lasting career as a live entertainer with a following that keeps coming back year after year.
For over 25 years, she's been a fixture on the South Florida scene — headlining venues along Wilton Drive, performing at charity galas and private events, and becoming one of the most recognized and decorated entertainers in the region. Multiple SFGN Bestie Awards for Best Live Entertainer, Best Local Celebrity, and Best Artist/Musician. A New Year's Eve performance featured on CNN live from Key West. A role in the 2023 film Big Easy Queens. And a New York City cabaret debut at the Laurie Beechman Theatre that proved what South Florida audiences already knew — Jennifer McClain plays any room.
WHAT MAKES A JENNIFER McCLAIN SHOW
No two performances are the same. Jennifer builds every set around the room she's in — the venue, the audience, the energy of the night. She can slip from a Sondheim ballad to a country anthem to a full-throttle pop moment without losing the thread, and she does it with the kind of warmth and wit that makes audiences feel like they're in on something special.
She performs solo with backing tracks or alongside a pianist, and she takes requests — because the best shows are the ones where the audience feels like they're part of it.
COMMUNITY
Jennifer is a proud LGBTQ ally and has been an active, visible part of South Florida's queer community for her entire career. Wilton Manors has been home base — a place where she's not just a performer but a familiar face, a friend, and a constant presence at the events and spaces that matter.
